Well ya, ever since I was introduced to this print called “Stripes”, I instantly fell in love with it. I distinctly remember looking forward to this Physical Training day in school as a kid, just because I got to wear my uniform with Stripes in it. It somehow made me feel extremely confident and polished instantly! And ya, my association with striped still remains the same… 🙂
No sooner that I spot anything in Stripes – Horizontal – Vertical or even Diagonal – it just have to be mine! There’s something extremely classy about Stripes which is self-sustaining and it does not need anything else to support itself. And like I said, I came across this beautiful a-line chiffon dress at a local boutique and it just had to be mine. I totally loved the color play that these stripes had – Fun Yet Mellowed along with the gorgeous net detail at the neckline. So intense was my love for this piece that I had to fit it into my corporate work wear & how? Well, just added a tan blazer (last worn here) which totally complimented the color scheme and gave a structured silhouette to the entire look.
The trick, however, to wear an A-line dress with flowy silhouette like this to a more professional setup is to balance it out with a structured blazer which helps you look polished and prevents you from looking way too causal and sloppy. Added a beige belt and a pair of sky blue heels to complete the look.
This look is perfect for a business lunch on Saturdays or even for a your Annual Conference, if you don’t want to look too formal and yet don’t want to loose out on your sophistication & feminine side.
